Frankham Headquarters

This project comprised the construction of the new Headquarters for Frankham Consultancy Group Limited from feasibility to completion. Frankham provided a full multi-discipline design service.

The site was identified as having medium levels of ground contamination, areas of Japanese Knotweed and was on the flood plain of the River Cray. The design included for the division of an 1800mm diameter sewer running across the site. The building was designed with specialist offices and open plan areas, to accommodate 200 staff. The building incorporated high levels of insulation, raised floors for data cabling, passive ventilation resulting in a low environmental impact.

Our Environmental experts ensured that there was a minimal impact of this building on the environment by designing a low carbon building with passive ventilation, utilising stack effect cooling in the atrium.

We undertook decontamination of the site, incorporation of flood prevention measures and off site fabrication to minimise construction time. To overcome settlement due to the presence of fill on site, the steel framed building is set on piled foundations.
